Typically our format follows the Small Business Administration outline for business plan, but we adapt each plan to the client’s focus. The business plans that Matson Consulting creates usually includes these key sections.

  1. Background Information
    1. Project background and management qualifications to run the business.
    2. A mission statement for your business.
    3. The business’ goals and objectives.
  2. Description of Products and/or Services: description of the product(s) including the price of each product and the cost to produce.
  3. Governance and Organizational Matters: How the business will be managed and organized including: the legal structure of the business, board structure, key employee positions, and businesses advisors?
  4. Marketing Plan: information on your customers and competitors, where to locate the business, how to promote its products, and strategies for obtaining customers.
  5. Financial Plan: detailed information about resources for running the business and your projections for profits. These details are supported with financial data tables. This section is the longest and, is critical part of the Business Plan.
