Jessica  Shaw graduated from the University of South Carolina, Aiken in  May 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in Professional  Writing. As an intern with the firm, Jessica created an in-office style guide  to aid other consultants in the completion of documents.

As an Editor at Matson  Consulting, Jessica focused on the creation of documents, including feasibility  studies, business plans, and marketing plans while also conducting research and  client meetings. Other duties included maintaining social media pages and the  website.

Jessica is currently the Project  Manager and is responsible for managing the day-to-day project flow through the  office. She is also the Lead Grant Writer and has worked with clients  interested in Value-Added Producer Grants, Small Socially-Disadvantaged  Producer Grants, Rural Cooperative Development Grants, and Local Food Promotion  Program grants, to name a few. She has successfully helped clients secure millions of dollars in grant funding.

Jessica has also been the  co-author of multiple publications for the firm, including articles in the  USDA’s  Rural Cooperatives magazine. Her most recent publication was the  Rural Development Service Report 77 titled “Running a Food Hub: Assessing Financial Viability.” Jessica also completed her Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, Aiken in 2021.
